Custom flowers are tailored to your preference, painting, shaping and dusting so that no two flowers look the same. Pricing for individual wafer paper flowers is based on petal count, intricacy, and time. They can be purchased in a cluster of 2-3 focal flowers combined with foliage or by the individual bloom.

While fresh flowers from your florist can be used as decorations for your cake, keep in mind that they can contain pesticides, herbicides, dirt, bacteria, and sometimes even natural toxins (e.g. hydrangeas, anemones, hellebores, and many other flowers that are inherently poisonous to humans — whether they’re grown organically or not). Despite their prevalence as cake adornments, fresh flowers are not food safe! Flowers made from wafer paper are a great non toxic option to real flowers and have been used to adorn cakes for years. They are then inserted into the cake with food safe methods (floral picks, straws, toothpicks)

What is a wafer paper flower?
Wafer paper (also known as rice paper) is a thin sheet of edible paper, made of a combination of potato starch, water, and vegetable oil. Most wafer papers have either a neutral taste or are completely flavorless.
Wafer paper flowers are a popular form of cake decorations among bakers and cake designers. This decorating medium is "feather weight", durable, and used to create elegant flowers that look different from the regular gum paste flowers which are beautiful but can be very fragile. Wafer paper petals are colored using edible food colors and/or petal dusts and assembled with wafer paper glue which are completely edible.
Wafer paper flowers are food safe and are intended to become a lasting keepsake once your event is over. Do note however that some wafer paper flower parts may be affixed to non edible components such as Styrofoam balls, floral tape, and wires so eating them is not advised. The wafer paper flowers can be carefully removed from the cake and saved in a dry environment away from sunlight so that the beauty of the flowers may be enjoyed. The flowers can be showcased under a glass dome in your home for years to come.

These are a great option if you’re hoping for a color of flower that does not occur in nature or cannot be sourced for your special occasion. However, please be aware that wafer paper flowers are not meant for consumption as they are decorative only.
